A Different Kind of Demo at Google

We were meant to present Gendayo at the Google × Antler Hackathon — a moment we’d been looking forward to.

Then life rearranged the schedule.

One of our own was called to another kind of duty — family. It was a small, human moment that reminded us what this company stands for.

Why we’re building

Gendayo has never just been about code or competition. It’s about designing for real life — the kind that doesn’t follow perfect timelines, and doesn’t pause just because an app is inconvenient.

There will be other hackathons and other demos. For now, we keep doing the work: shaping, testing, and refining a platform built for safer, smarter, and fairer movement in African cities.

Progress isn’t only measured in prototypes or pitch decks.
Sometimes, it’s measured in presence.

Next Steps

Our research team in Uganda is preparing to collect more on-the-ground insight into how people move through cities — and those stories will guide every design decision we make.

If you’re curious what we’re learning (and want a practical snapshot of your own mobility experience), take the Gendayo Mobility Assessment.
